The Artist
Elena Vance is a contemporary oil painter based in the Pacific Northwest. Her work is deeply influenced by the atmospheric conditions of the coast—the way fog softens the horizon and how sunlight filters through heavy clouds.
With a background in classical fine art and a later shift toward abstraction, Elena's paintings occupy a unique space between representation and pure emotion. She works primarily with oil on linen, building up thin glazes of color over several months to achieve a luminous, layered depth.
"I don't paint places," Elena says. "I paint the feeling of being in those places. The aim is to create a space for the viewer to breathe, to slow down, and to find their own narrative within the layers of pigment."
